I am creating a web page but what%26#039;s the difference in web hosting and MS web hosting? Is MS better or does is it more compatible?
What%26#039;s the difference in Web Hosting and MS Web Hosting?
Typically, MS web hosting implies the server where your website is running will be running Microsoft Windows Server software. What does this mean for you?
It means you can use languages such as ASP and ASP.NET and not have to worry about performance.
It means you can use MS SQL Server.
Otherwise, you%26#039;d be running on a Linux host, where you can%26#039;t really run ASP or ASP.NET effectively and cannot use MS SQL Server.
Both types usually run PHP as a language and MySQL databases.
If you%26#039;re just making some HTM or HTML pages, then it doesn%26#039;t matter.
What%26#039;s the difference in Web Hosting and MS Web Hosting?
No difference from the point of view of serving the pages, just in the implementation. By far the fastest growing server in use is the Apache server, this can be run in conjunction with php and mysql on any windows, mac or unix/linux machine. It is very secure, more so under linux, very fast and easy on resources. It will serve htm (windows standard) and html (unix and everyone else standard) pages.
Other Replys:Actually what ever kind of web hosting server platform that you want to use it depend on ur web scripting. Let say if u using ASP scripting so u need to run with Microsoft server environment platform, if ur scripting is PHP language u can host either on Windows server platform or Linux server platform and so on. But if your web is ended with ***.html or ***.htm you can hosting on any server that support this standard web scripting. :p
Other Replys:%26quot;Web hosting%26quot; is a linux/unix based hosting.
%26quot;MS Web Hosting%26quot; is Microsoft Windows based hosting.
Usually linux hosting more cheaply than MS hosting.
