Web hosting?

how to I find out who hosts the website a freind of mine has

Web hosting?

do a who is on it and bingo! http://www.whois.net/

Web hosting?

show us the link

Other Replys:Impossible expect it%26#039;s a subdomain.

Other Replys:Web hosting, domain names, web design, free web site and email address providers. We offer affordable hosting, dedicated ad-free web hosting, ...

Other Replys:Use a site such as http://www.domaintools.com/

I recommend using a http://www.sharkspace.com for a web host.

Other Replys:try following

http://www.learnwhois.com

Other Replys:http://www.interkeys.com/tophosts has a solid reliable list of the top hosts in the market today. How large a website is this and what kind of features does he need?

Web hosting?

what should i use to host a website that is quality. Other than bluehost, hostmonster those are junk

Web hosting?

Depends on your needs. I am a fan of http://www.dreamhost.com for shared LAMP hosting and http://www.webhost4life.com for shared Windows hosting.

For dedicated servers, I use http://www.rackspace.com . Yes, Rackspace is expensive, but if I have something with its own server, I want the best service there is, and they have the best service there is.

Note to previous user: Sectorlink has had plenty of downtime over the last 5.5 years. They just didn%26#039;t tell you about it. You can see for yourself here:

http://uptime.besthostratings.com/viewre...

Web hosting?

http://www.sectorlink.com

I%26#039;ve been with them for 5.5 years now, and they only just went down for the first time in 4 years last month (can%26#039;t really blame them for that, either...it was a combination of tornadoes in the area and hurricanes throughout the US).

They answer my questions, they solve my problems, and they%26#039;re the only host that has resolved an issue for me in exactly 60 seconds. Find me another host that will do that.

Other Replys:Try godaddy, yahoo webhosting which are quite reilable.

Other Replys:http://www.LocoDomains.com or http://www.JuicyHosting.com they both are very very good

Other Replys:Don%26#039;t try godaddy or yahoo unless you%26#039;re a big fan of paying extra money for less features.

The most reliable web hosting provider I%26#039;ve ever used is Lunarpages. You%26#039;ll get a domain for life, multiple domains on a single account, and great customer service.

I have a comparison of web hosting provider features at the link below, with pricing, etc.

Other Replys:Just pay more, if you go with a cheap host like bluehost/hostmonster you have to remember you are paying $10 bucks a month, that can%26#039;t hire a guy in college for even 2 hours.

So if you want better hosting pay more, go get a vps or managed hosting at rackspace.com, liqudweb.com or so on. Expect to pay about $50 for a vps or less, and $500 for a dedicated server.

Other Replys:I wasted TONS of time with many cowboys, (bythehost being one of the absolute worse) then one day I had a sort of revelation and though %26quot;why not try Yahoo!%26quot; themselves!!!

I wish I had done it before, they are even cheaper than the cowboys, you never get downtime and their tools are excellent!

Other Replys:There%26#039;s quite a good article about choosing and buying web hosting here on BestAffiliateProgramGuide.com

I found this really useful - I%26#039;m using Heart Internet and they really are class. You%26#039;ll find that mango hosting are a Heart Internet reseller (selling cheaper)

Other Replys:Jonny,

Obviously as I work for http://www.UK2.net I閳ユ獡 going to trump their (excellent :P) web hosting solutions but what you should do is check out an independent specialist review site such as WebHostingChat to get a feel for what others are saying about Hosting/Domain offerings.

Hope this helps mate.

Web Hosting?

I registered a domain name for my company a few years ago, as an example www.greatsolutions.co.uk.

I want to be able to make it into a website now, i want to get a company to host the website (i%26#039;m going to figure out how to design it in something like MS frontpage). Can i just tell them my domain name or do i have to %26#039;deregister%26#039; it from the register company and reregister it with the new company or what?

Finally will i be able to get an email address like emma.hope@greatsolutions.co.uk from a webhost company?

Does any have any recommendations of a company that could do this for me, i want someone i can use (i am UK based) and offers good value for money (not necessarily the cheapest), good customer service etc.

Web Hosting?

Hi, points all below:

1. Your Domain - The most important thing to remember is to never never move your domain to the hosting company, you want to keep your domain at your current register company and only change the DNS servers. The reason is that you want to keep control of that domain name as bad hosting companies in the past have sometimes held it hostage to make you pay and stay with them or if they go bankrupt its hard for you to get your domain back. When you sign up with a hosting company they will give you DNS servers and then you can just go into your current register and change your DNS servers to those and within 10 to 36 hours everything will be working.

2. Your Email - yep that is no problem, the hosting company will have a control panel you can use to make those emails. Its easy and they will probably have a flash movie to show you how.

3. Recommended UK based companies - For someone who focuses on web hosting and is inexpensive but not the cheapest and has good customer service I recommend the below:

UK2.Net - http://uk2.net/ - One of the bigger UK based companies, reviews are not great but that is just because they are one of the bigger ones, still a good cheap host. (User reviews at http://www.webhostingunleashed.com/uk2 and http://www.uk2reviews.com/)

DataFlame - http://www.dataflame.co.uk/ - Decent company, but has good user reviews (Revies at http://www.webhostingunleashed.com/dataf... and http://www.dataflamereviews.com/)

HostNine - Their staff is US based but they have UK based servers, mid size and very good reviews (Reviews at http://www.webhostingunleashed.com/hostn... and http://www.hostninereviews.com). Depends on if you want UK based service.

You might also check out http://2uk2.com/, newer so don%26#039;t know too much about them. Also you can get a lot of info on a host by searching on WebHostingTalk.com for the hosts name too or for uk based hosts and it comes up with a few more.

Good luck!

Thanks, Ben

Web Hosting?

You should be asking this question at the help option of Yahoo! instead of Yahoo questions and answers. I think they will be able to accomplish everything you want done (for a fee so make sure ask about the price).

Other Replys:Your domain name will be your website name...there are redirect services but it will cost you more in the long run. The domain registry is around $5. Once you have established your domain name as %26quot;greatsolutions.co.uk%26quot; you will own everything before @greatsolutions.co.uk for e-mail service.

Do a search for %26quot;website hosting%26quot; in your area for the best deals....make sure you find a site that will allow frontpage extensions...so you can harness the power of MS Frontpage

A lot of hosting companies are providing free webpage builders with their services...you might want to look into that too.

Good Luck

Other Replys:I live in UK but I use hosting from US. I would like to suggest following webhosting which I use, they are excellent.

Hostmonster http://www.hostmonster.com/track/ryukend...

They are best...they talk politely... They are not in UK but they are decent enough and best. They help u in designing at no cost... For them client is everything!!! Try its not so high and so go on... My best wishes r with u!!!

Other Replys:I wrote an article in my blog about finding a domain name and getting web hosting: http://www.web-a-week.com/2007/09/05/fin...

I%26#039;m also UK based and use a couple of web hosts. The one in my blog is a US reseller actually using a UK main host (but they are cheaper than going direct to the host!)

I also use http://www.protecweb.co.uk/. I%26#039;ve dealt with them by email and they are very helpful and quick to respond. There is a phone line - I just haven%26#039;t had to use it. They do Frontpage extensions if you like Frontpage.

(DO not use fasthosts as their customer service is terrible - I moved away from them!)

Once you have got your web hosting sorted out the web hosting company will tell you their web server names - you will be able to set these somewhere in your domain name setup and within 24 hours the 2 will connect.

Other Replys:Yes its easy. i would recommend you this wonderful website http://www.fxdoors.com they offer the certified top 10 web hosting companies. all you have to do is visit this site review, compare and choose your hosting company from top 10 list and the company will help you they will solve all your problem. thanks

THey have reviews of all different web hosts and will answer questions for you on a one to one basis.

If you have that much data to share you just want to make sure you have enough bandwidth. Also you want to make sure that the host will allow you to have the sharing going on. Sometimes host will freeze and acct if its a shared account and a lot of file sharing is going on.

Hope this helps!

Give it a week and it should be done. If not, get in touch with your host as they should be able to look into it in more detail for you.

Web hosting?

which ones would you recommend? Why?

What should I expect to pay per year for service?

Web hosting?

HostGator, without a doubt.

1) Unlimited email accounts

2) Unlimited subdomains

3) Unlimited FTP accounts

4) Unlimited MySQL databases

And last, but not least, ...

5) Quite possibly the most responsive and helpful customer support I%26#039;ve ever encountered on the web. And that%26#039;s coming from a software engineer. Some of the questions I threw their way were VERY technical.

Finally, if you%26#039;re planning to design websites for clients, you have the option of managing their web space as well, by getting a reseller account.

Other Replys:For starters, I recommend Hostican. They give you a free domain to start with. For about six bucks a month, you get 200GB space + 800GB bandwidth. If you happen to have more than one website, they can host unlimited domains, so you will be fine.

One thing I really liked about them is after I signed up, they called me and asked if everything went ok.

I highly recommend them.

Other Replys:Hi!

First of all forget the recommendations that go into affiliate links.

The only reason these people are recommending this hosting company is so they can get paid if you sign up. Sad..but very common. They%26#039;re easy to spot. Example:I recommend blah:

http://someotherurl.com/?blah

or

http://www.blah.com/?paymeforthis

Now..with that said..finding a decent host can be difficult. Never pay for a year at a time...never. Pay for a month and see how things go. There are tons of free trials out there..ask for one even if host does not offer it normally.

Do a web search..talk to them..call them...email them...see if there is a fit.

If you want serious web hosting..one name comes to mind:

http://www.rshosting.com

They cost a bit more than others because they do more..simple as that. Even if you%26#039;re not planning on being a reseller..I still recommend them. Serious business-class hosting.

I dont want to frustrate myself with all these webhosting sites..

I just want to build my own website I have a domain already I just dont know the next steps...and I need a good webhost..thats inexpensive

Web Hosting?

You can find a step by step guide on how to make a website at websites like http://getafreelnacer.com/webdesign.htm

Web Hosting?

If you have a domain name already, hasn%26#039;t it come with any web space for hosting your website?

If you have some webspace, then you can just build a few pages with HTML and upload them.

Other Replys:I used free hosting for a while but came to realize that it is free for a reason. They make their money off pop ups and advertising.

The site that I use is as low as 1.00 a month.

I use the 3 dollar package because it gives you the online web builder.

I say this because of the freebies that they offer.

Other Replys:cheap and good: ucvhost.com

you%26#039;ll need to know how to point the DNS servers to the host, etc.

Other Replys:French_Meister,

Depending on how technically minded you are and whether or not you have a Broadband internet package at home the easiest possibly solution for you would be to simply register a domain name with a company such as 1and1.co.uk or 123-reg.co.uk or -here comes the lame plug- http://www.UK2.net ....yes yes I know I work for them but we have sold over a million domains (stop the tut tutting im trying to be impartial here).

Once you%26#039;ve purchased your domain simply %26#039;point%26#039; it at the webspace that came with your broadband package (your ISP should be able to assist you with this part) and your set.

Other Replys:learning how to make website take some time. there are many aspect of it you need to get used to and be familiar with it. for that reason i suggest don%26#039;t buy any hosting or any things yet related to website making. anyhow getting your own domain name is a wise move.

i suggest you find a free host that won%26#039;t put force ads on your site and have a paid plan as well. that shows there are really in web hosting biz and use their free plan to promote their paid services. while you are in the learning process you can search around for hosting plan that would fit your need or getting info on getting traffic to your site.

my recommendation is only get a paid plan once you know how to consistently generate traffic to your site. getting traffic is the hardest part so why waste hosting money while learning it. but to transfer your site to another host is not hard at all so no need to worry about it now. if you need my recommendation of reliable free host go to my site and check out website building section. you also got links to free sites providing tools in making website. hope that helps a bit.

Other Replys:Begin with setting up your own webpage as your current internet provider will provide free hosting as discussed below.

If you are currently a paid Internet subscriber, you are entitled to a %26quot;homepage%26quot; which often contains simple navigation and editing tools. And if you use the Netscape browser, the built-in Composer feature is a superior HTML authoring tool which is totally free. You can easily generate a full-blown website as a Homepage.

Nevertheless, the %26quot;homepage%26quot; URL is likely to be %26quot;http://homepage.earthlink.com/subscribe... name%26quot; and that URL can easily be overwritten via a redirection service, i.e., %26quot;mydomain.com%26quot; which allows you to link any registered domain name to %26quot;mask%26quot; another website. For example, should you type in the %26quot;domain name,%26quot; you will be immediately transported to the homepage and the hompage URL of http://homepage.earthlink.com/subscriber... a homepage URL which will be masked by the domain name. And the charge for the redirection service [even at godaddy.com] is normally FREE.

When you acquire a domain name, connect it using a redirection service [as discussed above] and submit/publish the domain name on major search engines/directories in order for Net surfers to find your website.

Good luck!

$18.95 to hold a site name

Around $25.00 a year to host it.

You will pay alot more for popular site names.

You can also usehttp://www.Informe.com to host a forum. it is free and you can just link to it from your main website.

Other Replys:HostGator. Includes free plug-in for forums. Just click and you have a forum. Can%26#039;t get easier than that. I use them. Very reliable and fast loading time.

I would recommend IX Webhosting.It%26#039;s cheap and very reliable.Check it out here:

Other Replys:I know that ITS can help. They have done that and can help with hosting and setup questions. You can also give them a call and talk in person about specifically what you want to set up and how much it will cost. I know they are very reasonable on price too.

Other Replys:Check out http://www.Yoserve.com

They are cheap, and have all the required needs for forums / blogs / Content management systems etc.

Ok they%26#039;re UK based but that%26#039;s no bother with things like Google checkout and Paypal. Setup is instant and they have easy install of a whole host of forum / blog / CMS software and other scripts.

Web hosting?

I need to buy a doman but not really sure where to buy it from, i want preferably an unlimited amount of disk space but not a ridiculous price, any ideas?

Web hosting?

There really is no such thing as an %26quot;unlimited%26quot; amount of disk space. The obvious reason being the size of the hard drive.

Also, if you%26#039;re promised an unusually high amount of space, be aware that these hosts are doing the same thing that the airlines and hotels do... over-booking. They sell more drive space than they have physically available, knowing that most people won%26#039;t even come close to their limit.

There are other issues with hosting besides drive space and bandwidth, especially if you%26#039;re going to be running web applications like discussion boards, content management systems, blogs, and/or an online store. I wrote an article on some of the technical stuff that the hosting companies don%26#039;t even mention in their ads...

http://www.hesitantrhino.com/build-your-...

Finally, before going whole-hog with a paid hosting plan, there%26#039;s a free host that you might want to check out. They%26#039;re AD-free as well as MONEY-free, and you get all the goodies that a %26quot;real%26quot; host will give you... five MySQL databases, five email addresses (with real POP3 and SMTP servers), five FTP accounts, cPanel, phpMyAdmin, and a modest selection of auto-installable apps from content management systems to discussion boards to online stores...

http://www.hesitantrhino.com/free-web-ho...

You can also try easier-hosting.com they offer some good hosting reviews.

Other Replys:Hi,

When choosing a web host it%26#039;s of course important to consider the cost (some hosting can be very expensive) but here are some other important things you should take into consideration too:

Web Hosting Space: Some web hosts will only give you 500MB or so of space. This could be a concern if you are looking at creating large websites.

Bandwidth: Some web hosts will severely limit the bandwidth you can use before you incur extra charges.

Uptime: There%26#039;s no point in having a website if people can%26#039;t see it. Does your web host offer at least a 99% uptime guarantee?

Number of websites allowed: If you%26#039;re looking to host more than one website on your account, will your web host charge you more to do this?

Support: If you have any problems you need to be able to contact your web host quickly and easily to get the problem sorted.

I have used Hostgator as my web host for over two years now and have been very very impressed with them. Firstly they%26#039;re very cheap but still give me more web hosting space and bandwidth than I%26#039;ll ever need, the ability to host unlimited websites, a 99.9% uptime guarantee and great customer support. You can find them at http://www.webhostgator.info

Other Replys:The best webhosting to choose for this thing would be http://www.empservers.com

There are many good hosting providers like bluehost, ipower, hostmonster etc...

Before deciding to sign up hostmonster, read the reviews and stats about hostmonster at the following website.

http://www.hostmonsterreview.co.uk

Other Replys:http://www.LocoDomains.com has the best deals and service

Other Replys:Hello there. Like those have said before me, beware of websites that advertise unlimited disk space and unlimited bandwidth. If you doubt it, try calling them and telling them you immediately need 100 terrabytes of disk space (secure your pricing first) to host thousands of videos, see what they would say (that could be fun, maybe I%26#039;ll try that one day).

I%26#039;d like to ask why you need so much disk space?

What are your real needs in a web host? Personal help with web development? Do you own a business or want to start one and need a web host that is geared toward business owners (I made that point because mine is)? Do you need your severs to run fast, or is a lot of disk space but slow server speed ok?

Anyway, I hear hostgator is good but in case you%26#039;re looking for a little different kind of web hosting company, you might want to check out http://www.eventurebiz.com.

Good luck.

So what matters to you, is it web hosting or is it success?

Any hosting company can be very good at what they are doing %26quot;web hosting%26quot; but very few hosting companies can provide web hosting and at the same time help propel your web site to success.

Before choosing any hosting company (and there are many hosting deals out there) ask your self, are you going to pay for that service and join the rest of the other sites that have been packed and sitting on that server.

Or are you going to pay for a hosting package that will also play an important role as far as your on-line success is concerned.

Other Replys:use http://www.LocoDomains.com or http://www.JuicyHosting.com they both are very very good

Good luck!

If you are serious about websites either for personal or your business, don%26#039;t go to free web hosting as they are usually not reliable and you may end up losing all your hard work. Free web hosts usually put advertisements on your websites and it could be annoying.

If you like to create websites (usually you will end up more than 1 website, I got more than 100 websites in about 6 months%26#039; time), go for multiple web hosting services where you could host all your websites in one account.

閳?For free hosting, try google pages (pages.google.com) or yahoo geocities,

It%26#039;s sort of free hosting, but you are limited to a subdomain on googlepages %26amp; geo has ads on your website - otherwise I would use http://www.interkeys.com/tophosts to get one for a few bucks a month with 750 GIGs of bandwidth and rich with features.. you will be much better off. It%26#039;s up to you how developed a site you want and if you want to use your own domain name. Having your own domain name + your own hosting gives much more credibility to your site and allows you to be more flexible (such as adding google adsense to make money, affiliate links etc).

I would like to suggest following webhosting , they are excellent.

Hostmonster http://www.hostmonster.com/track/ryukend...

They only charge $5.95/month and they offer %26quot;a free Domain Name%26quot; and installing service called %26quot;Fantastico%26quot;. Which web hosting service (co) is compatible with Web Easy Pro 7? I work offline. I need my own web

I am looking for a web hosting service that allows me to use my web designed software or I can buy a simple one from computer store.. I work offline most of the time to help customers setup free web pages . I have a web designed software : %26quot; Web Easy Professional 7 by AvanQuest (PC)%26quot; that I use to create/ edit web page and upload directly to the Internet. Is there a web hosting service that is compatible with this program.? Is there a site builder software where I can buy from e-bay or a computer store that I can use with most of the Web hosting service..? Which web hosting offer monthly subscription ? Which web hosting support other Lagrange.? Thanks.

I assume that you simply register the required domain and then upload the complete site using an FTP account.

I also assume that that is the method that you configiure in your software (im not greatly familiar with it).

Assuming that is the way it works, my services are compatible with this, and you can choose between US and UK datacenters, and all hosting plan offer a free domain name or domain transfer in a large number of domain types.

Web Hosting.. Who to choose?

Hey guys

Im looking for a good solid web host. I have been searching around the web here, there, and pretty much everywere for a solid web host. I need the following as standard..

PHP

MYSQL

Web stats

FTP

Cpanel

I have come across http://Right-Hosting.com they offer 1000MB web hosting from $2.95 per month, which is payable via paypal. They host a friend of mine who says they have fantastic support for him, and are always allowing him to use a little extra space and bandwidth when he needs it.

Well, Let me know what you think, or if you guys have any recommendations!

Thank you.

Web Hosting.. Who to choose?

I am not familiar with right-hosting, but I looked at their site and I could not find a support phone # anywhere. I have a number of websites and would never host with a company that doesn%26#039;t offer phone support. I couldn%26#039;t imagine waiting hours or days for an answer to an email.

For the last couple of years, I have used http://www.oneworlddomains.com. They offer 24/7 phone support for all their hosting plans. They have a free hosting plan if you register a domain with them. I think their cheapest paid plan is $4/mo, so for $1 more than the other company you get telephone support.

I would at least check them out.

Good Luck!

Other Replys:Often times cheap web hosting providers only give you one database, or charge you extra for adding new domains to the same account.

Other things to consider are the number of databases and web site templates that come with the account, in case you decide to grow your site in the future (Wordpress for blogging, Drupal for content management, etc). In short, you get what you pay for :-)

I%26#039;ve used Lunarpages and HostMonster, and recommend them both for their features, price, and technical support. They both offer a free domain name and you can host unlimited domains with a single account using HostMonster.

Other Replys:although it is cheap you can only host one domain. so why not find a hosting that would host more domain more space more bandwidth but not unlimited because that is not realistic. and also give 1 free domain for life as long you stay with them. and before Halloween they offer very attracting plan. so if you need some good deal you have to act quick.

What web hosting company might I want to consider if I was looking for one with an excellent web bui

At this time I am looking to set up a personal travel website and maybe later for business, but first I need to find a strong web hosting company. I have looked up several including Lunarpages, Infinology, Host Monster, StartLogic, and Blut Host. I will not pretend to know all that much about web hosting, but what I do know is that I want a very profesional looking website when I am done, which means I need one with an excellent web builder. Lunarpages is the only one that has shown the profionalism of their web builder program. However, with that being said, if any of you know something that I don%26#039;t like a more qualified web hosting company that you recoment, I am more than willing to pay attention. Thank you very much for your help.

Honestly you get what you pay for. Website builder are not true html code and have limitations. You need to learn a programming language or pay a web designer.

Web design and web hosting?

Okay, I have got photoshop (7.0) and I do a little bit of web design on it. I also have %26quot;Fusion%26quot; for hosting, and I have %26quot;Dreamweaver MX 2004%26quot; (Which I haven%26#039;t had time to learn yet).

The question is..... does anyone on here do web design? How did they get started in it, do you do it out of your house, or business?

And web hosting. I have used 1%26amp;1 hosting before, and had pretty good luck with them. But does anyone know of (if there is one) a legit site that has free hosting? Maybe without ads? (Probably gonna be hard to find I know). Or what is your experience%26#039;s with different web hosting places? Can you reccomend a good one?

I am basically wanting a place to have me a site, where I can have some stuff I have made on there, and maybe some templates to sale.

Thanks.

Web design and web hosting?

Several questions here, I%26#039;ll try to answer in separate points below:

1. Learning web development

That%26#039;s a personal style question. For me I found it easiest to take a course to make me focus at first. I then went head-first hands-on and learned wayy more. I suggest the basics you need are HTML and CSS. Everthing beyond that is dependent on what you want to do.

2. Web Hosting

Suggest if you%26#039;re actually selling on-line and showcasing your work that you may want a dedicated site. Free hosting may not be all that impressive to potential client...

I have found http://www.canadawebhosting.ca/ to be excellent, but maybe more than you want to spend. They are Canadian based and have phenomenal customer support. You also get a mySql DB (DataBase) at no extra charge - comes in handy for advanced tools.

3. As for selling on-line, if it%26#039;s just templates and low inventory you can set-up a PayPal solution and use a PayPal shopping cart. If you have greater needs, then that would again push you into dedicated hosting with a database option.

Now, just what are you selling? You may want to post some follow up questions to get a feel for how much consumer interest there may be in your offering. This can help you weigh in on how much $$ this actually worth for you to spend. - There are also tax write-offs to consider if you%26#039;re ready to start a real business...

Good luck!

Web design and web hosting?

Another thought... it%26#039;s not FREE, but if you%26#039;re working with clients and designing their websites, why not get a reseller hosting account and have them host with you? Then not only is your own site free, it%26#039;s earning money. Report It

Other Replys:Example: you pay $25 (the basic package), you bill 3 clients $10 a month to host with you, and you%26#039;re already earning. Get 10 clients with that model, and not only is your own site %26quot;free%26quot;, you%26#039;ve got an extra $75 a month.

Web hosting review needed.?

I%26#039;m considering signing up for Yellowpipe web hosting. Is there a way to compare web hosts with an impartial bias? Can anyone have a look at their features and give a review? I like their look as well, my friend says they%26#039;re very nice support team.

Regarding the space and trafic they offer, I%26#039;m fine with it, I need very little space.

I do NOT need to be pointed to a myriad of other hosting company, I need info/review of this one: Yellowpipe web hosting. (http://www.yellowpipe.com)

Web hosting review needed.?

I use yellowpipe for web hosting, I have a starter plan and it%26#039;s really worth my money. I never had any problem and I need a reliable server for my small business. Last year, I had a cheap hosting ($5/mo) and it was terrible. I recommend paying a little more than the very cheap ones to get extra quality like their reliability and very cool support service. Plus I read that hosting with a reputable, long time online web host is better to have the search engine%26#039;s trust. Yellowpipe has been in business since 2001.

Now you say that you don%26#039;t want any other advice on a different company, but yet, you might want to look at host directories like tophosts.com to compare a few of them.

Web hosting review needed.?

I host with http://www.DependableHost.net - their prices are right, service is awesome, all the features you%26#039;d ever want, and 100% uptime for a year and a half now! MySQL, Curl, GD, Cpanel 10 Control panel, Fantastico, Frontpage Extensions, etc. all included! Report It

Web Hosting and Domain Name Transfer - Need Help - !!!?

Hello,

Here is my problem , I currently have a person website I have built with Frontpage 2003, I own a domain name that I bought and have it paid for until 2010. My webhosting service is through IPOWER , And I hate it ! It always has problems and my website never loads correctly on the ipower servers. I thought that maybe It was my website or computer that was the problem. So I got a bran new computer and got a New version of Frontpage and REMADE MY WEBSITE from scratch. And I noticed today that Im having the same problems with my website so it has to be the web hosting service. So now I want to switch to a new web hosting company. Can I do this and how ? I need to be able to take my domain name with me. What do I need to do to this ? The new comany I want to switch too is Omnis Web host. And one more thing is im mad casue I have pre-paid for 2 years hosting on Ipower and now have to switch for poor service. Do I lose my money then ? or can I ask for a refund ?

Web Hosting and Domain Name Transfer - Need Help - !!!?

you may switch to greathost I think they have something like this http://www.greathost.cyberspeedsolutions...

Web Hosting and Domain Name Transfer - Need Help - !!!?

I suggest you switch to another host like bluehost, or godaddy.

Other Replys:First, since you%26#039;re prepaid on the domain till 2010 you can leave it there and just switch webhosts. You%26#039;ll have to go into your domain control panel and point the DNS to the new hosting servers. I would switch to http://www.doggydomains.com They have good hosting at low cost and also 24/7 phone support. Once you get a hosting plan you can call the support and they%26#039;ll tell you where to point the DNS for your domain.

Also, you should be able to get a refund since you paid up for two years. Most hosting companies will refun the unused portion.

Other Replys:Depends on the company%26#039;s policies as to whether you%26#039;ll get a refund...as to transferring, yes, do it!

From advice I%26#039;ve gotten, it%26#039;s best to register your domain name with a company different from the company with which you%26#039;re doing the hosting in case this happens again! Less hassle when you transfer...see the point? If you transfer, you don%26#039;t have to move the name, just go to the registrar and change the dns pointer to the new host! That%26#039;s what I%26#039;ve done. Registrar fee is cheap! Like as cheap as $6-$7 per year. Then, when you OWN a domain name like that you can buy into hosting for as cheap as free, in some cases (like Google, once you finagle your way through it...) or $12 a month (Yahoo!) or whatever godaddy costs (I don%26#039;t know but I%26#039;ve heard it%26#039;s good) or like that.

My hosting company is aso (A Small Orange http://www.asmallorange.com) $9 per month and I%26#039;m very happy with them - good uptime and excellent tech support and excellent control panel.
